(Austin, Texas) — The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) Board of Directors has officially received two new members: Amy Ellsworth, general manager for Community Impact Newspaper, and Mark Ayotte, senior operations manager at Dell. Both were appointed to their respective positions by the Williamson County Commissioner’s Court to serve two year terms. Ellsworth was sworn in at the February 22nd Board Meeting, and Ayotte took the oath of office at the April 26th meeting.

“We are extremely fortunate to welcome these respected community leaders to our Board,” said Ray Wilkerson, chairman of the Mobility Authority Board of Directors. “Amy’s diverse experience in media, business, and state and local government will be an invaluable asset to the makeup of our organization while Mark’s expertise in business, non-profit and government/community service brings a unique perspective to our agency’s mission.”

Ellsworth has deep experience in public service, having previously served as chief of staff to former Texas House member Linda Harper Brown before joining Community Impact as general manager for their flagship paper covering Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Hutto in 2013. Ellsworth also serves as chair of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, was formerly the chair of the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and previously worked on the Round Rock Chamber’s transportation subcommittee.

Ayotte’s background is in business operations, having formerly served as Dell’s senior operations manager for 15 years. He has owned several e-commerce businesses, including one currently, and serves as Board chairman for Cedar Park-based Reveal Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food and clothes to families in need. He also serves on the Cedar Park 4A Economic Development board and the city’s Charter Review Committee.

Ellsworth and Ayotte replace two of the Board’s longest-serving members. Jim Mills, president of the Rivercrest Group in Georgetown, who had served on the Board since the agency’s inception in 2002, and Robert Bennett, Jr., former Round Rock City Manager, who had served since 2003.

“I would be remiss, however, if I did not commend our two outgoing members for their focused and dedicated service,” Wilkerson said. “Both Jim Mills and Robert Bennett Jr., tirelessly served this Board and the residents of Central Texas for 14 years. They truly built the legacy of this organization.”

The Mobility Authority Board of Directors is comprised of seven local community volunteers who are responsible for setting policies, identifying priority projects, and ensuring the agency is operated in an efficient and effective manner. Board members are active members of the community who are appointed to serve two-year terms and are not compensated for their service. The governor appoints the chairman, and the Commissioners Courts for both Travis and Williamson counties each appoint three members to serve on the Board.
