Mobility Authority Names Robert Goode Deputy Executive Director
(Austin, Texas) — The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) has named Robert Goode as a new Deputy Executive Director. A licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas, Goode is a veteran transportation and infrastructure planning executive with 35 years of experience in city, county, and civil engineering management. In his new role, Goode will manage projects and programs and ensure the agency meets its goals while delivering on its mission of improving the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
“Robert has a proven track record of providing the leadership necessary to deliver innovative and complex projects and programs on time and within budget,” says Mike Heiligenstein, executive director for the Mobility Authority. “Robert has demonstrated a unique ability to navigate government operations to successfully plan, finance, construct, and maintain infrastructure. He brings the right brand of leadership at the right time, and aligns with our agency’s customer-centric focus.”
Goode most recently served as an Assistant City Manager for the City of Austin. Since 2008, he provided direct executive leadership and oversight for the Infrastructure Services Group which includes Austin Resource Recovery, Austin Water Utility, the Corridor Program Office, and the Public Works and Transportation Departments, overseeing more than 2,500 employees. In addition, he provided oversight for Aviation, Code Compliance, and Capital Planning, and served as interim general manager for Austin Energy. During Goode’s time serving in local government, he developed and implemented extensive roadway capital improvement programs ranging from $50M to $1B. Mr. Goode holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho.

In addition to ten years with the City of Austin, Goode has held various leadership positions in public works and engineering in both the public and private sectors, working for such entities as Travis County, the City of Fort Worth, the City of Olympia, Washington, Bury & Partners, Baker-Aicklen & Associates, and Smith & Kangas Engineers.
