(Austin, Texas) — The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) Board of Directors has received a new member, Mike Doss, unanimously appointed by the Williamson County Commissioners Court at its March 5 meeting. Doss was sworn in at the March 27 board of directors meeting and replaces outgoing member Frank Leffingwell.

“We are honored to welcome Mike Doss to our board,” said Ray A. Wilkerson, chairman of the Mobility Authority Board of Directors. “His extensive background in community service will add value and diversity our agency’s perspective on mobility. We look forward to a new voice in the discussion as we address the mobility challenges facing our region.”

Since moving to Round Rock in 2004, Doss has become heavily involved in his community. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, the board and strategic planning committee for the YMCA of Greater Williamson County and the advisory boards of RBI Austin and Next Act Arts Foundation. In addition, he was a 2018 McBee Fellow for the Austin Area Research Organization (AARO).

In the past, Doss has been actively engaged in other community roles including serving as chairman of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, co-chair of Round Rock’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, as a Round Rock Zoning and Planning commissioner, as a board member for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and as an executive committee member of the Rotary Club of Georgetown. He has also provided leadership in the Round Rock ISD Citizens Bond Committees for several years.

Doss earned his BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia, his MBA from Georgia State University, and is a graduate of Leadership Round Rock and Leadership Georgetown. He began his career in banking and finance in 1992 and is now an EVP-Area President for Independent Bank where he has served since 2008, providing leadership and helping spearhead significant growth for the bank in the Austin Area.

Doss replaces former Williamson County-appointed board member Frank Leffingwell.

“On behalf of this board, I want to thank Frank for his dedicated service to the Central Texas community,” said Wilkerson. “He was a great asset to this board, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

The Mobility Authority Board of Directors is comprised of seven local community volunteers who are responsible for setting policies, identifying priority projects, and ensuring the agency is operated in an efficient and effective manner. Board members are active members of the community who are appointed to serve two-year terms and are not compensated for their service. The governor appoints the chairman, and the Commissioners Courts for Travis and Williamson counties each appoint three members to serve on the Board.
