MWM DesignGroup is a HUB, WBE and SLBE certified Austin-based firm providing client-focused services in civil engineering, land surveying, architecture, landscape architecture, and permitting services. MWM was founded in Austin, Texas in 1980 and maintains a versatile staff of qualified professionals reflecting technical expertise, practical knowledge and local construction experience. Nevertheless, it is our commitment to professionalism and customer service that defines our corporate culture. CIVIL ENGINEERING MWM’s engineering group is organized around service teams. In keeping with our interdisciplinary approach, all engineering team members actively work on and support the full range of civil design services while maintaining responsibility for their primary service area. This enables MWM to readily respond to project demands with capable staff experienced in our full spectrum of engineering services. Our engineering teams work closely with our in-house architecture, landscape architecture, and survey teams to offer comprehensive and intelligent solutions for multi-disciplinary project. SURVEYING MWM has provided superior surveying services since the company’s founding in 1980. For over four decades, we have consistently adopted the latest technological advancements in surveying. MWM was an early proponent of electronic data collection and continues to utilize state-of-the-art surveying equipment, such as robotic total stations, reflectorless total stations, digital levels, and GPS receivers. The MWM survey group works side-by-side with engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and government relation groups - we understand the necessity of an accurate survey. Equally important, we are known for our prompt and comprehensive surveys. We are justifiably proud of our history of successful surveying projects; completing thousands of surveys for both public and private sector clients. ARCHITECTURE MWM’s architectural team provides design services for a broad range of commercial, industrial and institutional facilities, as well as services for the preservation, rehabilitation, or adaptive reuse of existing structures. The firm also provides land use and feasibility studies for existing facilities or proposed new development and analyses of facility utilization. In addition, MWM can provide consultation services to assess facility needs; evaluate facilities for compliance with building codes and accessibility standards; develop programming for space planning or project management; complete historical analyses; develop preservation plans; and develop performance criteria for design-build projects. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE MWM’s landscape architectural team is focused on generating functional, creative, and sustainable landscape design solutions that integrate with the overall project aesthetic. We have significant experience utilizing landform design, natural area conservation and restoration, native and adaptive plants, and water conservation techniques. MWM’s integration of landscape and engineering design services gives us a unique perspective and allows us to implement creative solutions for managing storm water to protect the quality of our natural environment, including bio-filtration ponds, extended detention ponds and bio-swales. The landscape architectural team is highly experienced in land planning, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certified projects, master landscape planning, erosion control, rainwater collection for irrigation, bio-design (biofiltration and bioswale), landscape restoration, revegetation, tree and natural area preservation. PERMITTING + ENTITLEMENT Over the past decades, MWM has built long-term, amiable relationships with government officials and community leaders involved in the development process at the City, County and State level. MWM’s Permitting team works closely with other MWM’s design disciplines, sharing resources and the knowledge base of our land entitlement/permitting specialists.
