- Mobility Authority Requests Proposals for Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) Patrol Services
The Mobility Authority is soliciting statements of qualifications and proposals from firms with highway traffic operations expertise to manage and operate the Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) Patrol Services along a 32-mile segment of the IH 35 Corridor in Central Texas, generally between the City of Buda and the City of Round Rock. - New Board Member Joins Mobility Authority
Austin real estate consultant Charles H. Heimsath has officially been sworn in as the newest member of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority Board of Directors. Heimsath was appointed to the seven-member Board by the Travis County Commissioners Court, filling a position left vacant following the sudden death in July 2009 of Lowell H. Lebermann, Jr. Heimsath was sworn in by Travis County Commissioner Sarah Eckhardt during a ceremony today at the Mobility Authority's monthly Board meeting.
- Mobility Authority Approves New Toll Schedule for 183A
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will be implementing a new toll rate schedule on the 183A toll road beginning January 1, 2010. Under the new schedule, the toll rate at the Park Street Mainline Plaza will increase from $1.35 to $1.55 for drivers paying with TxTag. The rate for Pay By Mail customers will increase from $1.80 to $2.07. Toll rates at the Lakeline Plaza and the Brushy Creek ramps will not change.
- Partnership with Williamson County to Enhance 183A Bicycle and Pedestrian Path
The Mobility Authority's plans to construct a bicycle and pedestrian path long the 183A toll road took another step forward on Tuesday when the Williamson County Commissioners Court voted to approve a partnership with the agency to pursue funding for a bridge across South Brushy Creek to connect the existing Brushy Creek Regional Trail with the planned 183A shared use path.
